Smart audio beacons offering 24/7 accessibility guidance and smart audio wayfinding
Audible guidance in the 21st-century urban landscape
What is an audio beacon?
Smart audio beacons guide users with sound, helping them locate entrances, elevators, and key destinations independently. It can be used in a variety of public spaces.
This smart audio beacon is specially designed to support the safe and independent movement of people who are blind or visually impaired, and it can also help people with mobility issues.
The smart audio beacon goes beyond traditional audio wayfinding solutions—it doesn’t just beep, it speaks to the user.
- Our smart beacons can be programmed to provide spoken directions in the user’s preferred language.
- The beacon only activates when someone enters its range using the free MyMovEO app or the Okeenea Button, keeping ambient noise to a minimum and ensuring a peaceful environment.

Entrances & Lobbies
Accessibility starts at your DOOR
A smart audio beacon helps people locate building entrances easily and independently. As the user approaches, the beacon announces the location of the entrance and gives clear directional guidance to help them reach their destination.
This solution is ideal for all public spaces—such as government offices, libraries, retail environments, and event venues—anywhere you want to serve your customers equally, safely, and with dignity.

Pedestrian Crossings
Smart audio beacons make traffic signals audible
Crossing the street can be frightening—or even dangerous—for someone with a visual impairment, especially without clear guidance. A smart audio beacon announces where and when it’s safe to cross, and which direction to take.
The result is greater independence, improved safety—and a more accessible city for everyone.

Public Transport
One voice can take you on an entire journey
Metro platforms are often busy and noisy, making navigation difficult—especially for someone with a visual impairment.
Smart audio beacons installed on the platform ensure that even in unfamiliar stations, users can independently find the correct exit without confusion..
Accessibility is a right—not a privilege

Why choose Axessible’s smart audio beacon?
The smart audio beacon activates only when a person approaches it.
Unlike conventional devices, it does not disturb passersby, nearby residents, or customers in surrounding shops—ensuring a peaceful environment for all.

Accessibility That Guides Everyone Forward
For individuals with visual impairments, sound beacons are more than technology—they’re a gateway to independence.

All you need is the free MyMovEO app on your phone or the Okeenea Button to activate the audio beacon.
You’ll hear the guidance either directly from the beacon or through your own headphones—whichever you prefer.
The EAA comes into effect in June 2025. Are you ready?
The EU Accessibility Directive requires that all self-service devices must be accessible—just as the directive’s name implies. This obligation applies to both public and private sector operators.
More detailed information about the new requirements is available on the website of the European Commission
For people with visual impairments, self check-in has traditionally been difficult: How do you find the right machine? How can you read the number that appears on the screen? And once checked in—how do you locate the correct room?
Seamless and accessible self check-in, powered by Axessible.

Installing and Using the Smart Audio Beacon
Easy installation:
- The audio beacon is delivered pre-programmed with the spoken messages agreed upon with the customer.
- The device is mounted quickly and securely using just two screws.
- All settings—including volume, playback timing, and other parameters—can be adjusted wirelessly.
Works with MyMovEO App or Okeenea Button
- The beacon is compatible with MyMovEO, a mobile app designed specifically for people with visual impairments.
- The app is available free of charge from the App Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android).
- Once the app is activated, the user only needs to have their phone with them—in their pocket, for example.
When the user enters the beacon’s Bluetooth range, the beacon automatically recognizes the device and plays a clear, spoken message to help guide them safely forward. Alternatively, the beacon can be triggered using the Okeenea Button, a physical remote designed for the same purpose.
